Default Model B and BB crankshafts

What is the difference between a B crankshaft and a double B crankshaft?

The first Model B crankshaft looked like a Model A crankshaft except bigger journals. In late 1932 (Oct I think but see "The 1932 Ford Book" if you need the exact date) counterweights were cast onto the crank. There was also a crank with pressed on weights that you are probably calling the BB crankshaft. I have heard a couple of stories on these ranging from Big Trucks to additions at a later time by Ford authorized rebuilders. See Vince Falter's site
http://www.fordgarage.com/ for further details and photos.

The weights were not pressed on, they were shrunk on, big difference!

The one disadvantage to the shrunk on C-weights on the mid 30,s Ford rebuilds for trucks was that they were about twice as wide as the standard 33-up weights & had to be removed when the crank pins needed regrinding.Other than that, they provided even better balance than the standard C-B shaft.
