Attention! Slant windshield 4 door owners! Needing advise!
Hello all, I've got a 31 Slant 4 door town sedan, the outside door handles sag, who offers a rebuild kit? Springs? Etc etc to rebuild the door mechanism to bring the outside door handles back to original? I called brattons and they have kits but they're technically not for slant windshield model a's, my RR door is the worst, it saga about 2 inches, Thanks for any help

first of all, NO ONE makes a rebuild kit for the S/W door latches. and no one makes a good spring for the remote. that I have found. the 32 ford door latches use the same springs. I rebuild a lot of these latches and I`m currently out of latches and the main springs. I make the rivets on the lathe. I will be at Hershey this year, so hopefully I can find some. it could be your latch is twisted inside. that happens when someone tries to open door when it is locked on the inside. it is pretty common.

Follow the link to my web page below.
You have to rebuild by taking them apart and welding up the wear. Pretty easy. |

There is also a brass bushing that has the square hole for the handle that gets worn. It then twists and let's the handle droop
I am in signal Mtn and 30 miles from you I have done dozens of those |

I had Oldbluoval rebuild my latches. They work great. Steve at Bert's recommended a vice and heat to bend the shaft on the passenger door handle back to "preceved" normal. As you figure out the angle of sag and then heat/bend the shaft to "reset" normal.
