You need to ask on the Early V8 forum. This section is for questions about the site, very very few car questions get answered here.

HI! My grandson & I are doing a total restoration on our 48F1 w/ a 239 V8. We want to do a simple start up of the engine. No wiring is yet installed. I have installed an IGNITOR & matched it with a 40,000FLAME THROWER coil. We will do up as a 12V pos. neg. ground. The engine cranks over with the remote starter but nothing from the coil. So far the wires are OK from the battery to the solenoid and the distributor to the coil. I have connected a wire from the secondary terminal on the solenoid to the POS. side of the coil. That measures 6.9V when we are cranking. The coil gets warm rather quickly so we leave that wire on for just a short time. How do I get spark from the coil to the distributor? Thanks!
