Does anyone know what the correct color(s) are / is for the logo on the hubcaps for a '48 Merc? Thanks!

Used to own a '48 and recall using black to touch up the original caps.

Now, just to confuse the issue, here is a picture of a NOS Australian 1948 Mercury Hubcap. Notice that this one is all Black?
As Australian cars were sourced from Canada, were their 1948 Mercury Hubcaps painted all Black or Black and White?

Here is a picture of a fully restored 1948 Mercury Sedan showing a close-up of the Hubcap in which the script etc is painted all black. From this, can you see that my NOS 1948 Mercury Hubcap (previous post) is not the only one that is painted all Black.
What do other Barners think?

I've seen originals both ways. Perhaps yours is all black because you caps are export?

I did all my hubcaps "red cause its a Ford" paint pens I love those pens..
