Default 1940 Ford Convertible Sun Visor Rod

I need a photo or sketch of this rod with measurements so I can make a pair. Does anyone have an old one they don't need? Thanks 40larry

Buy some from Karl. You'll be glad you did and save yourself a lot of time and money.

I bought a pair from Karl and they are quite nice but pricey. He included a drawing of the visor body but I do not believe his dimensions are correct. Can someone provide me with the length and width of the 1940 convertible visor body. Thanks............40larry

The body itself or the upholstered panel?

The length and width of the metal frame would be perfect. If not please give me the length and width of the finished upholstered visor. Thanks Mike for your help.

I'd figured I'd better do this now while it remains in my memory bank.
If you need more dimensions, let me know.
The overall width of the framework is 13.375".
The overall height is 4.437".
The rod diameter is .150".

Thanks. Your length and width are close to what I was thinking but your rod diameter is way off. It should be closer to .282 inches.

Perhaps you were referring to the wire diameter used for the outer framework not the visor rod. In that case everything checks out.............

Larry, the rod is a much larger diameter than the frame rod diameter. In other words, the part that the upholstery is trimmed to - not the pivot rod.
