I was wondering how many women Model A owners read this forum and what model A's they have and drive. Thanks, Bill

I've often wondered that myself but if there is, it would be a cold day in hell for any would want to meet up with me. But, more sincerely, I love to meet up with some but I know none, have seen none and the only ones I've seen in any Model As are co-pilots operating the GPS.

My wife was the reason we bought ours... so I always refer to it as her car.

Although I do all the work, she makes the decisions.... like white walls

I've ended up being her driver due to her MS. However, the large running boards are a godsend - make it very easy for her to get in.

OK... way more than you asked for......... she does read the forum from time to time.

My wife and I jointly own our vintage cars and generally share the driving , especially on trips, changing at every 100 miles or half day
As we get older, (I'm 70 and she's 66) it helps reduce fatigue on long journeys
Keith

I should have added that she also competes in hillclimbs

It's the wife's. She wanted it, I bought it as a mother's day gift. It is registered and insured in her name, but she has never driven it.

Can't keep her out of the MGB though.

The NEED for our women to be able to drive the A is being addressed by our club. We are having a day (off road) where the women will be taught to drive them. Not sure how many divorces there will be nor whether I might loose my car but there have been occasions where He has become ill and SHE has had to drive home. Besides that, it helps get the women folk involved. Mine wants a woody. I can't say no but it will mean another garage.

A couple of years ago while on Junk Jaunt there was a woman in Brewster, Ne. that owned a pieced together Model A pickup that said she was a regular reader of the forum, but had never posted anything. I went through Beewster last year and did not see her pickup there and it appeared her antique shop was closed. Was unable to go on Junk Jaunt last year do to having to go to Vegas in Oct. and could not afford to do both. Rod

So what you are saying is that she wanted it in name only? Wayne

Our hot rod A is in the wife's name and she likes to drive it fast like in hill climbs and drags but not much on street driving.

I'm sure that if I ever found a gal who loved Model As, late 20s/30s Jazz and Swing music, played Hickory Golf and dressed the era and was drop dead gorgeous, I think I'd do just that....drop dead!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In 1928, top box office actress Joan Crawford ordered and received one of the very first Ford Model A's. Screen legend Mary Pickford also was an owner/driver of one of the first of the NEW FORD models of 1928.

So women have been admiring and DRIVING the Ford Model A for quite some time !

It's always good to teach your wife to drive your Model A. Just in case.
