Default Inherited a ton of Model A parts...need help with what to do

First off HELLO! I am for sure a noob to the early fords, I specialize in old motorbikes and bicycles and have always appreciated seeing you guys in these old cars.

I have recently acquired a ton of Model A parts. Mostly the later years but a bit from the first years. I know what most of this stuff is, but some of it I have no idea. I will post more pics tomorrow when I have a chance to lay it all out. Most of these parts are "usable rusty".

My question is, what is the best way to go about parting this stuff out? I have access to sand/glass blasting, acid bath, and electrolysis tank. Would it be worth it to derust this stuff? or sell as is?

Too many parts to list but lets just start with this for an example. A complete tudor drivers side body panel, solid...would it be worth more if it were blasted and primered? or just as it is? (pics attached)

I know this is a long sale on ebay for all this stuff, but the money is for the kids so Im trying to make the most of it.

THANKS IN ADVANCE...if you are interested in the side panel, i have both sides, solid, and complete.

My recommendation would be to not waste your time derusting. Set your camera on the lowest resolution (for posting) and post in the "for sale" section of this site.

I believe the opposite.

Blasted parts show the exact condition of the parts, and if they are decent you will get more for them than you would if the parts were hiding under some rust.

A warm welcome to the Barn..

i personally feel if they were blasted and primered i would think it was butchered underneath with mud . its better to see things the way they are plus you take the chance of blowing holes through any thin areas

Welcome to the group. You may want to save some money and advertise with the local clubs.

Blast and "pickle" the rarer of the parts. For the most part though leave as is.

Leave the parts as is, let whoever buys them do whatever to them.

Put the rare speed parts on eBay with international shipping and let the bidding wars begin

I agree with others not to blast and prime most of the parts. Let the buyer take care of that. Also if you run onto some 28-29 pickup mirrors, an interior light switch and light switch bezel I may be interested. Rod

I have seen parts for sale that somebody sandblasted and left laying around afterwards, and they got all rusty again.

If I buy a part that has (possibly) been sandblasted and primered, the first thing I do is blast off the primer to see what is really underneath...

If you do blast any parts, I suggest to apply a film of preserving oil instead of priming. That way the bare metal is still visible and only needs a wipe of degreasing fluid by the buyer to inspect and see what they are actually buying.

I would become "best friends" with a couple of guys in a local Model A club to help price and sell stuff. Pick a Saturday and have a sale for the members of the local clubs and on Sunday open it up to the general public. If you don't set dates people will bother you the rest of your life or until you scrap the bones! Don't forget there is a Model A Museum swap meet at the Gilmore next summer. Don't bother to blast.
