29 Clutch Problem

When you have a transmission with no synchronizers, then double clutching is common for upshifting and downshifting.
Otherwise you can learn the exact time to pause between shifts to avoid grinding gears.

That can only be learned by experience, never by tutorial.

You can change gears without double clutching, if using the special heavy gear oil for Model A's, but if I need to change down or accelerate quick through the gears, double clutching is necessary. Hardest thing to learn is getting the revs just right in neutral when changing down third to second or first.

You must have some free play but taking a little out will allow the clutch to release a little more.
