Had one a while ago and sold it. It was a 63 King Midget roadster. Had it on the road for awhile after restoring it, pretty dangerous little thing to drive on todays roads, top speed around 47 mph, go cart type quick steering(very quirky at speeds over 30) and only (1) wheel drive. Very cute but dangerous with no protection at all.

We have a guy around here who collects micro-cars...

He has a couple of BMW Isettas, several Messerschmitts, and a 1959 Goggomobil...

Definitely unique rides...

Too bad this museum is closing - it was on my "bucket-list" if I ever got down to Atlanta...

I never knew about the museum, but certainly would have stopped in if I was in the area. Sure looks like a nice collection and more different makes than I ever knew existed.

I have a 1938 IHLE CAR, it does not have the original engine. It is fun to drive around and is for sale !

Through the 50's & 60's I had six Crosleys and needed them all, for the ease of getting parts----they were anything but a "road-safe vehicle! Always could make the engine run but just about everything else had to be handled like a ripe pumpkin! I took a 47 tudor and welded the doors shut and cut the top off and made the entry as you would in a open jeep---made a "swoop' in the doors and lined the entire top edge of the body and doors with 3/4" steel angle iron, painted it red and put a siren on the left front, made a "beer" trailer out of a spare front-end and a 55 gal drum laying horizontal, with a square access door on top for the product and ice and it was the "official" parade car for about three summers! You'd be surprised how great that thing ran after four cases of cold refreshment! Bill Boyer

I fixed up a 59 Vespa 400 for a guy. It was a cool little two stroke car once I got it running right. It reminded me of racing the go karts when I was little.

Dunno if mine really counted as Microcars, But I had a 1992 Suzuki Cappuccino (660cc Turbo) and 2x 1972 Daihatsu Max 360 (360cc 2 stroke) amongst others ( 1997 Suzuki Wagon R 1.0 Turbo, 1995 Daihatsu Mira 850cc).

The Cappuccino would put an average 2.0 sedan to shame, especially when you got to a corner!
