Re: Banjo center section
'37 and '41 banjo housings are identical. So, should be no issue. DD

Re: Banjo center section
Shucks. I just tried to upload a link to that old Hot Rod magazine axle & rear end identification article, and the link is broken. Anyone got that link and can upload it here please?

Re: Banjo center section
Hey ALAN...That was a "STREET RODDER" article, but it never showed any real info about the banjo housings. In fact, it didn't show any info on the early '32-'34 rears. I'll try to find it in the morning. DD

Re: Banjo center section
Pete, yes, that's the one! I'd like to repair the link in my club's website if you can scan the whole article for me? Very grateful in advance! I'll PM my email address to you.

Re: Banjo center section
Located a 3.54 center section out of a '41.Trying to determine if the existing '37 is a 6 or 10 spline without pulling it apart. No grease zerk(for drive shaft bearing)on torque tube so I am thinking its a 10 spline.

Re: Banjo center section
on left, 32-34, note the bolt pattern for the bells is clocked differently, center, 35 to ?, front two bolts for the bells is now parallel to the tube flange. also, wider and longer for the bigger pinion bearings. right, later centers have the larger web casting to helps support the pinion bearing area

Re: Banjo center section
As long as you use the entire 37 axle bells, axles, and spider gears, the 3:54 center section will bolt right in. I can send you an easy way to install it all back together that I have used in the past. Just send me a private message with your email address .....
Good score on the 3:54s .... |

Re: Banjo center section
I don't have a link for the full article, only scans I made from the magazine a while ago. I think that ford38v8 will be putting the scans on his clubs website and putting that link in this thread.

Re: Banjo center section
The magazine we're looking for here is the January 2003 issue of Street Rodder. I might have it somewhere upstairs but a lot has happened in the past 15 years.
Just found it on Ebay. Unfortunately I haven't Ebayed in years. Here's a link: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...+2003&_sacat=0
