Tools- Oil Can & Jack
In the January 1, 1928 Parts Price List it lists the Oil Can as part no. A-17040 followed with a note "Same as T-2337".
The Flip Top Jack is listed as part no. A-17080 with no reference to a "T" part no. My question : Would the "T" Oil Can be acceptable in Fine Point Judging for the Very Early A's (October 20, 1927 thru December 31, 1927) ? As I recall the Standards state the Jack was a carry over from the "T", yet my April 1, 1927 "T" Parts Price List shows a different Jack (not flip top) and of course, per above, there is no reference to a T part no. ? What is your opinion? Ron |

My opinion is to look here and see what MARCA shows for the correct jack.

Re: Tools- Oil Can & Jack
You can not use the parts lists diagrams as proof for what was issued or not issued. They often depict an old stock item rather than get another drawing done. The part number given is usually more accurate; the ''foreign'' parts books I have quote Model T numbers for tire irons, pliers, toolbag etc well into late Model A era.
Actually, the fliptop jack with the hole through the topper was early Model A but there is one with out the hole which I have read was late Model T. There was another one [Walker] non flipper, 10" high which was also Model T. If you are going for judging, then whatever they say is correct is the one to get. |
