I had to disassemble my rear axle due to axle housing repair sleeves wearing out in just 1500 miles.I discided to check the drive shaft needle bearing which I had replaced with a new repro part at the time of the axle overhaul.Im very glad I checked it because the rollers were getting close to coming out of the cages due to improper heat treating of the cages.Fortunately I had saved the old original bearing which was in good condition so I put that back in service.This bearing had been purchased about 10 years ago from one of the model A vendors. I wouldn’t use a pitted bearing like the one you have but just because a bearing is new doesn’t nessasarilly mean it will give good service. Dennis
