Re: V8 water pump
I finely got ahold of Dennis Cling, he will be sending me a pulley for a model A pump.
before that I ordered a V8 pump from Dennis Carpenter, then I had to press off the pulley . after I did that I saw the difference in the pump the shaft is bigger on the Carpenter pump. so I decided to go with a Model A pump from Snider's. I hope I get all the parts soon because the car has been laded up for 3 weeks, I wont to drive it!

Re: V8 water pump
Is it possible the V8 pump has been modified to use a Model A plastic fan and pulley? See if the fan can just be removed and put on a stock pump.

Re: V8 water pump
I spoke with Dennis Cling, the guy who makes the serpentine belt set up. he is sending me a pulley for a model A pump, he said that the fan will work. I have put a lot of thought into this. and I think a Model A pump is the way to go. one good thing is it will last. the 34, 36 Ford Flathead pump is not designed to run a fan on it like the A pump. and one good thing is with the A pump I can change the pump on the side of the road. with the set up I have now the car will be down for about a week. some times I think stock setups are good

Re: V8 water pump
I think serpentine belt systems are overkill on an A. Keep it simple with the stock system & use the 2-blade alum fan for stock look & easy pump removal.

Re: V8 water pump
well I got my model a water pump on, and I just removed the radiator to install the fan. I think in about an hour and a half I will be done and back on the road!
