My Radio Shack buzzer was so loud and nasty I removed it. I tried smothering it in tape, insulted tape, etc. I'd rather have my wife jabbing me in the ribs after the turns than having that annoying sound. At least she doesn't scream when she jabs me. Maybe she wouldn't even jab me if I run 120 volts from the directional to her elbows.

You probably got a 100 dB buzzer. That is why I posted my comment that the 76 dB one seemed to be about right for this application - for anyone considering installing one in the future.
