Default Radiator and Yoke Mounting

Anyone have accurate pics/descriptions of the radiator and yoke mounting for a 1940 ford pickup? To my understanding, correct me if I am wrong, the bolt goes upside down, with the "rubber" pad between the frame and radiator with the spring and bolt on top. Thanks for your help.

As strange as it may seem, I think you are correct.

Sounds right with a drilled bolt, cotter pin and castellated nut.

It's been a long time since I took my 40 car radiator out but I think the car and pick up truck are the same installation. As I recall, the little pad goes under the mounting flange on the radiator. Then the spring goes under the pad and rests on the frame. Then the bolt goes UP from the bottom and thru the spring and out the top of the radiator flange. Then there is a washer and a nut. For some reason I want to think there is a cotter pin used with the nut, but I may be wrong. I am very sure that the radiator rests on the spring with the little pad and remember how strange I thought this set up was. i think the gas tank is secured in a similiar manner with the springs. The photos below seem to support my thoughts, I hope. Others on the Fordbarn will chime in here as I am not an expert.
