Default First V-8 release

The first Flat Head V-8 left the Ford factory on this date in 1932.
What a hobby it has made.

And 32 years later the Mustang rolled off the line, I wonder if FMC planned it that way.

Please note the date on the photo below from Ford's Archives. Tomorrow is the 84th anniversary of the '32 model year job #1.

Is this the date Mustang rolled off the line....because it didn't go public for another month. Most people consider April 17th, 1964 as the birth of the Mustang.

The Henry Ford in Dearborn cites today, March 9 as the date, could the 3-10-32 date on the photo be when the negative was processed in Ford's photo lab?

I guess it depends on where one looks in the Benson Ford Research Center at the Henry Ford. There are other references therein to the 10th as the Job #1 date. While it is not particularly logical to date photos based on when they were developed as opposed to the date when they were taken, in final analysis it's the event that counts and not its date plus or minus one day.
