depends on how thick it is around the bad spot-----at the price it is at now it would probably be cheaper to buy a new one if you would have to pay to have it welded/repaired, then surfaced
then it also might be possible to drill it, use pipe tap and screw in iron plug, grind and file it flat

Buy a new one not that much more. It can be repaired but you usually only do that with a rare head.

That is a casting flaw that appeared after machining. In my opinion, that would not effect operation as is, but Snyder's will absolutely not sell it for full price, or close.

Why would Snyders sell that head at all?
Customer buys that head, has a problem, (any problem)
LOW price won't be part of the discussion,
only the problematic head sold to him/her.
Some of these suppliers seem way too greedy.

Personally I'd pass on it.
Why? Because that Porosity may be much worse internally.
What if it actually goes into the water jacket. It would leak and then you would be removing it and fixing it all over again.
Just to save a $100.00???
What's your time worth???

They apparently expect that it will work just fine and know they can't sell it as new. It is probably sitting in their show room as well as on Ebay. They break even and someone gets a good deal.
