Default felpro rope seals

I have an oil pan gasket set from Felpro #os 2996 c-1 for my 51 ford 8ba. It came with 3 rope seals - 1 thick straight black - 1 thick curved white and 1 thinner straight white. No instructions - I assume the thick black goes in the pan for rear seal, thick curved white is for pan front seal - what is the thin straight white rope for? If I wanted to replace upper rear seal would it be the same as the thick black rope that came with this set?

The black (graphite infused) rope seal appears to be included as a multiple choice for the rear seal along with the white one.
Don't know of any advantage of using one over the other.

In the V8 sets, the black is for one year range, the white for another. May be worth checking with FelPro.
