I have 6 volt in my panel. Keep all grounds clean, good Battery, generator. I had the generator made into an alternator by the Genernator. It is great. Keep it 6 volt!

This conversation just reminded me of a post on another forum where the guy was having trouble buying a positive ground battery and wanted to know where he could find one.a

Also reminds me of posts where guys say you can draw down a battery and recharge it with reverse polarity.

Neither side is ground, it just measures the current going through the wire. Connect the wires and blow the horn. If is shows discharge it is correct, otherwise reverse the wires.

Cadillacs were positive ground until 1941. Why? Who knows. Other GM cars were negative.
Like said above, positive and negative are just words. They could have been A and B ground or north and south. male and female?
I changed my F1 to negative 12 volt because I rent trailers a lot and rental places hate it when you change their tail light bulbs. Besides, I have planned on installing an alternator for the last 20 years so a reason to go negative. More importantly it passes the purists off when I drive down the street and they see me drive by with the incorrect system!
Keep positive, it’ll save confusion.
