Default looking for zenith carb diagram

Greetings,

It has been diagnosed at a tour meet this past Saturday that I have a piece of dirt in my Zenith 1 carb. Car would only start and run with hand throttle advanced and he pulled out the idle jet and the turned off the GAV and nothing happened, car continued to run. Right before this, actually half way to the meet, no problems.

They suggested I take off the carb and blow it out, but now that I have it off and I separated the halves, not sure where to blow the air. I did find a clean carb for the most part with a bit of grit on the bottom of the bowl that I cleaned out.

I see a full cutaway diagram on line for the model B carb but cannot find a flow diagram for the Zenith 1.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

JackD

I dont have a diagram for you, but now that you have it apart, just blow through every orifice you can find, in both directions. Give it a shot of carb cleaner too.
Good Luck

AND a lots of other GREAT info! Paul has done a MARVELOUS job, setting up this website.
I CAN'T imagine the amount of TIME & TALENT it took to do this AND, if you E-Mail him, he WILL answer you.
It's a good place to take the "mystery" out of HOW things work & helps you be able to diagnose a problem, when one occurs. You CAN'T correct a problem, UNTIL you know WHAT needs FIXIN'
Strangely enough, WIKIPEDIA is also a good source for auto related stuff.
