Re: Dick Spadaro
That is such sad news and a great loss to the old Ford V8 movement. I am sure he is going to be missed greatly, even though I never knew him. His family and friends are in our prayers at this difficult time. May they experience Gods comfort and love in the difficult days ahead.

Re: Dick Spadaro
How sad.
I replied on the hamb and will repeat it here: It was very sad to hear of Dick's fall into ill health. So as this news comes, while it is no surprise, it is also very sad as one always hopes that things will improve. Where there is life there is hope, so to speak. I had some great constructive conversations with Dick, he was a very "switched on" guy. RIP Dick. |

Re: Dick Spadaro
Can never forget the discussion on needing a shorter trans clutch arm to solve the problem of not enough throw from the pedal....He kept insisting that the arm needed to be longer. We all knew here on the Barn that this was not so, but he kept insisting. It was just one of those days where a situation gets reversed in our brains. We so enjoyed toying with him on this....our respect and admiration for Dick was always there in those back & forth comments. We were 'sort of' waiting to hear more on his health issues, and this is the news that we did not want to hear. God speed Dick and do pave the way for us.

This is sad to hear but we knew it was inevitable in the end. I so enjoyed talking to him and he making me laugh my ass off with his descriptions and language. I will miss him greatly but he will always bring a smile to my face and heart. God bless you Dick and to your family. Gods speed, in a flathead of coarse.

Such sad news. We've lost a great advocate for the hobby. I hope there are lots of flatheads upstairs ... if not I'm not interested in going.

Yes, this is a very sad thing. I met him several times when I had a booth at York. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.

Re: Dick Spadaro
So sorry to hear of Dick's passing. I can't believe it was less than year ago we were sitting on the tailgate of his pick up shootin' the breeze about Hot Rods & 32 Fords in general, at the swap meet in Norwich, New York. I'm sure he is buzzin' around in heaven in that rusty 32 pick up he had. I will miss him greatly. RIP Dick

Re: Dick Spadaro
Sorry to hear he is gone. I always looked forward to seeing him and talking to him at Charlotte and we ran into each other frequently at Carpenter's. The hobby has lost a lot of help.

Bollocks, this is sad. I've brought stuff off him in the past. Very good to deal with.
RIP GB

Here's my story. So in Gettysburg, I really didn't know him and him definitely not me. I'd crossed paths at York NSRA StreetRod Nationals once or twice, talking parts or what a cool car he was driving. I remember reports of him scoping out a V12 dizzy that I came across in the York swap meet, according to the owner that I chatted up a hour after Dick had spotted the gem. I'm pulling up to the gas pumps in Gettysburg, just a 1/2 mile from the venue, about dusk, in my '36 Phaeton and him on the other side with a semi-ratty looking original '32 coupe hotrod. I'm 55 years old, a punk, and I say to him, "Trade Pinks?" and he thinks a half second add says something like add sixty K and we'll talk. Nicely played. A good guy, not his first rodeo!
