Default MARC Suspended

Tried to open the MARC site and it said it was suspended.
Any one hear why or the reason?

Someone forgot to pay the hosting or domain name fees?

Someone mentioned this the other day, no reasons posted.

This happens with car club sites more often than you might think. Too often, the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing in volunteer organizations.

Denis, I would accept that explanation however you have people on payroll as an office manager and office staff of MARC. As an owner of several websites myself, I know that I continually get email notifications and correspondence until the domain and the host fees are paid. I'd say there is more to this one than a volunteer dropping the ball.

Oh, I know... I took over the admin duties for a ham radio club web site, and found the site to be headed that way quick if it didn't get taken care of right away.

Volunteers only have so much time for the things they volunteer for. One person receives the bill, might be a few days (or weeks ) before passing it on to another person who can authorize a check, who then takes more time to get it to the next person, etc, etc, etc....

I once worked for a small company whose secondary domain name was issued to the owner of the company under his own email ID, and when the notices came through he apparently did not know what they were and did not tell anyone.

Needless to say, the domain expired and some jerk in Taiwan grabbed it and diverted all traffic to a porn site and demanded $10,000 to sell the name back to us. We took it up with ICANN and got the name back for free, but it took months. So, the bad guys know that site managers can forget to renew. Fortunately, it looks like this one has not fallen into the porn hands.

Hopefully it is just a matter of getting it paid and turned back on.

As the owner of five different URL sometimes it just misses billing I am sure it will all be sorted out in a day or so. Could be as simple as their credit card needs to be updated.

Somebody should be embarrassed about that happening. Hope they sort it out.
