Default Thoughts toward Texas

Our thoughts and prayers should extend to those (Model A'ers or not), facing destruction and hardship in the storm areas.
These coming days will live with them for a long time to come.. kb

Thanks for the kind words. I am 35 miles West of Houston and was born here so I am over prepared with generators, fuel, water etc. Being over 125 miles from the center of the storm we have only had 40 mile per hour winds with minor tree damage and minor power outages. Problem for us will be 3-4 more days of rain. Had 10" last night and all the creeks locally are already bank full. Estimates are for 20-30 more inches of rain locally and the Houston area is on the coastal prairie and mostly flat. No where for the water to go especially during high tide on the Gulf. I live on a 200 foot wide creek so expect a dramatic rise this next week. Great to live on the water during normal times. Not so now. Cars are all high and dry no matter what happens......
Unfortunately those that live near the center of the storm will see a lot of destruction and some places where structures are wiped away totally by either wind or storm surge. These storms are life changing for some.

My older son lives in Austin, they are experiencing heavy rain. Fortunately he's not in a low-lying neighborhood.
