Default thrust washer

Just got my new sector arm to tighten steering up....which way does thrust washer go? Cupped side go inward towards steering box or outwards?

The thrust washer Part#5420 in Bratton's catalog for the 7 tooth sector states: Ground and hardened. Grooved side faces the teeth on the sector.
