Default One last part needed! 1949 Woody!

We're in need of one part! After 4 years and many 'hunts' for parts it's complete..well almost.
1949 Ford Woody. Need drivers OUTSIDE windshield trim. Seems it's this model for 1949 and first 3 months of '50.
Do you have one? Know someone that does?
I'm knew here and hope the picture comes through. I'm on Facebook too. Jay Meacham. Thank you!

Try Juliano's Auto Trim in Connecticut. Before his passing, Bob Juliano had several 1949-1951 woody parts cars. There may be some parts left in the shop, as his widow still runs the business.

It took me 5 years to find this trim for my car. The late '50 and '51 woody guys are looking for these too to dress up their cars. An ad in the Woodie Times finally did the trick. I found a rough pair and then paid $200 to have them straightened and polished. Came out nice but have $350 + invested.

i;ll look, but I think an ad in the woodie times is your best bet.

When you find the windshield trim, I think I have an extra hubcap for the front wheel.

Jay, I saw your post looking for this trim piece on Facebook, and there was a good suggestion made there to check with "Third Generation Automotive" to see if they might have that piece. Just wondering if you followed up on that lead?.....and welcome to Fordbarn, did you also place an ad here in "wanted classifieds" ? There is a very good possibility of a member here seeing your ad and having what you need, or know someone who does. Good luck!!.... and obtw, that's a very nice looking woody!!

PS...you may want to add your approximate location in your Avatar. It usually helps a great deal for folks to know your geographical location.

I've know several guys who were good at welding thin stainless steel. A person may be able to resize some pieces from a 49 Ford car or perhaps even a Mercury car to get something that would work and look original. Sometimes unobtanium pushes us in that direction whether we want to go there or not.

As noted: only ONE part, drivers windshield trim is needed. And as commented in a previous post, the hubcap was left off for entertainment value.

Thank you, I'm helping a long life friend find the part. Lonny's not much interested in 'computer stuff' so here I am. As leads such as 'Third Generation Automotive' come in I forward them to him. He's checking with them now.
He's in N. C. Washington State...I'm in sunny Phoenix!

If your friend is in Washington state have him check with Rick Mack in Seattle area. He makes wood for those year Ford woodies and for Merc. woodies. Unfortunately I don't have his number but any woody person in Washington state probably has it. Also try google.
