South America was also in kilo's. My friends 31 Phaeton came from there and he had to switch the speedometer to get MPH.

100 is pretty fast, even if it is in kilo's. As I recall 88 kilo = 55 MPH.

That's about right Tom, 100 kmh is 62 mph, so 88 kmh is about 55mph

If I were to put a km/h speedometer in my truck, it would scare my wife half to death!

John B, do you think you might sell it one day?
Canada used to be MPH, but we're stuck with KPH now.

an easy way to convert kilometers to mph is take the kph and move the decible point one place to the left and multiply by six, 10.0 kph X 6 =60 mph, the decible point was move one spot to the left

Kilometer speedos are valuable here in OZ for hot rodders.

One of the Australian Design Rules of the 70/s states the speedo must be in KPH.

The oval km speedometers go to 120 km/hr. Here is a picture of some stencils I made for the oval km speedometer. It is hard to see in this photo but in the center of the "0" there is the letters KILO.

yes , nice and straightfoward with transfers to change mph to kph, but the odometer must have presented problems - they must have had a different gear ratio- quite a lot of effort (and no doubt to Henry's concern expense and profit margin )

I have a Stewart Warner made in the USA that came of a Ford I had in Holland.

This one goes to 140 Kilometers.
