Re: the swap
Aint much original left after removing the drivetrain...it becomes the chevy or whatever you put under it,with a model a wrapper.

Re: the swap
You might have more luck and interest over on the H.A.M.B.; which is more into hot rods.

Re: the swap
Install a Ken Davis A/C system, and have the best of both worlds. Simple task of converting to 12volts will be needed. Everything is a bolt in. Engine overheating can be as simple as incorrect timing, or dirty radiator. Join a local Model A club and enjoy what you have, no drive train fits better than the original. Still too slow, add an overdrive, car will drive faster than you will want to go.

90 outside ! Been 110 here for last few days ! My '30 purrs at 180 with 160 thermostat. Regarding air conditioning your A ride, I've seen guys rig air cond compressor and piping into their Model A sedan(orig engine)...so you can do it with your A . Especially, if you are happy with the 45 mph. Good luck Last edited by hardtimes; 06-21-2017 at 02:00 PM. Reason: ........... |

Re: the swap
I'd think this would be a good sight to sell these parts, not the Hokey-A..-Message Board. Guys here are looking for original parts.
Put them on the 'Swap meet' section. In lieu of your home situation, good luck, hope you get your car together to take your wife for a ride. Pull the original drivetrain, set it aside, and sell it at your leisure. If you had a video of it running and even driving around going thru the gears it will help you sell to a good Model A'er. |
