Default Returning original engine

In the mid 1960's, dad's second A had a timing gear failure. As he had a few spare engines in good condition, he just swapped one for the other. He restored this car in the 1970's, but never returned the original engine. Now, as a father-son project, we are again restoring the car, as well as fitting the original engine and placing it on full registration so it can wear its original 6 digit number plates, which we still have. Our plan is to have it ready for the 2020 Australian A national meet.

I can see it is an original RHD car is it a phaeton ? (tourer in England) . The Australian phaetons we see here have wood subframes with the panels nailed on to increase local content I guess . Phaetons imported from NZ are all steel same as South American and English . Keep us all advised on your progress and send more pics keeps us all motivated !!!

John in lovely high pressure hot sunny Suffolk County England .

It's an original Australian bodied tourer, yes we call phaetons tourers as well, with all its wood framed finest. The wood content was what body manufacturing technology was at the time and also to comply with Australian made content regulations at that time. Even my Durant and DeSoto are Australian bodies, both by Holden, and are also wood framed with meatal skins.
