First you need to see that the miles driven match the odometer, if off fix the gearing--- then you can correct the speed

When going up or down hills does GPS measure the distance along the "base of the triangle " or the "hypotenuse"? .. OK I know it's small print difference generally but significant if going up and down long steep hills
