Default 1941 Ford sedan dash color

Hi All,
Anyone know if the dashboard in a sedan was ever painted just plain black or were they all a woodgrain finish?
We a thinking of doing a 41 4 door B/w L.A.P.D. lookalike.

Many Thanks in advance?

Thank you very much.
Looks like I could go with a plain brown and no wood grain. Any idea what that shade of brown was called?

I would suggest purchasing the 1941-1948 Ford book offered by the V-8 Club. According to the book, the 1941 Super DeLuxe was finished in Kelobra and the Special Series and DeLuxe was Ebony Grain. Both as mercman shows are of a woodgrain pattern.

Briarwood Brown would be a good choice, I think.

Also, look at leather brown here:

Here's a Fordbarn Post that is good reading about Briarwood Brown.
