Marco;s FRONT Spring Chart...
Marco Tahtaras did an excelent REAR Spring Chart showing just where the different individual springs went in a assembled REAR spring.
That being the case ...did he ever do one for the FRONT Spring Assembly? I say this because I have several disassembled front springs and I do not know just where some of the leaves would go because they are of different lengths and thicknesses. Thanks. Pluck |

Re: Marco;s FRONT Spring Chart...
Steve, Marco likely took that info straight from the parts book. It lists the individual part numbers for the front spring.

Re: Marco;s FRONT Spring Chart...
Brent,
The reason I asked is that I am finding a couple of different sizes of "A" spring leafs and was just trying to figure where they went in the scheme of things. It appears that all the leafs were the same in the stacking order (longer on the bottom shorter going towards the top) except sometime either in late 1930 or in 1931 that two more were added to make a 12 leaf "A" spring. Am I correct? Also, were the 1 (bottom), 2, 3, and 4 "A" leaf springs of the same thickness than 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 (short upper)? Kind of looks that way to me. Thanks. Re: Marco;s FRONT Spring Chart...
The "AA" trucks had a 12 leaf front spring. On the 1928-29 "AA", I think that the leaf width is the same as the "A". The 1930-31 "AA" spring has a wider leaf.

Re: Marco;s FRONT Spring Chart...
There are two spring charts in the service bulletins, but I don't think they answer your questions.

The extra leaves go with the 12-leaf spring and the spring with the rivet for attaching the spring clamp in 1931. Pluck |
