Model A Accessories I would like to have. Sources?
I have found my share of period accessories for my cars over the years but here are a couple that I would like to find. Is anybody reproducing these items any more?
Window awnings - I've seen the roll up awnings that attach to the top of the door window opening. Never found one to fit my pickup truck windows. Rumble seat shade - I've seen one of these that was an add-on accessory that was almost like a roadster top that covered the rumble seat to shade the passengers. Anybody seen these used or new lately? |

Ebay or swap meets are the only sources i know for things like that. Possibly word of mouth.

I have the accessory ( Tuxaway ) that goes over the rumble seat. I sometimes use it on my Cabriolet. Wayne

At swap meets, hang a sign on your shirt: "WANTED, WINDOW & RUMBLE SHADES"

Don't know if the Model A Ford museum people can help or not but there was a roadster at the Medel A Day's at the Gilmore in 2015 that had a rumble seat top.

The car at the Gilmore museum was a Cabriolet. I heard that Bill Sturm made the Tux Away rumble top. It looked great!! I believe the car is still in the Museum. Bob Anderson from Grand Rapids Michigan was the owner of that car and had it in fine point at French Lick if I am not mistaken.

I have a set of original window awnings for our Town Sedan we got off of E-bay. Seen a couple since then, but you have to watch the size, they were made for other cars as well.
Also have two original rumble seat awnings for our Roadster, I wouldn't call them covers per se, definitely not Tuxaways, really more of a sunshade also off E-bay. Again you have to check size. I don't drive either car with them installed, too fragile to handle the wind, but make really good conversation starters. Also have one of the very rare service can sets in the lockable container seen on the '29 Roadster in the Henry's Lady book. Just happened on it at a flea market and the guy had no idea what it was. A little cleanup and fresh paint and it looks like new. They are out there if you keep your eyes open long enough.

A guy in our club has one of those Dickey Seat covers with side curtains. Very difficult to get in and out of, especially for a lady in a dress.
It shouldn't be too difficult to make one using those instructions as a guide.
