Default u-joint housing gasket whatda?

Nov 1928 car. U-joint housing gasket doesn't fit no mater how many times I turn it. Service Bulletin says 2 bolt holes changed from 2 3/4 to 2 17/32 so the gaskets are slotted ok. My 2 corresponding holes are 2 15/16 center to center, Whatda????

If your gasket has the two slotted holes, then it should fir both bolt patterns for the U joint covers. Sometimes paper gaskets may have shrunk a little and wetting them in warm water will make them expand some.

Any chance you are working with some tranny other than a Model A?

Early U joint covers are different than the later ones. In fact, there are a lot of differences. I think Pluck has done a nice inventory of the correct ones. Gasket material and patience are your friend.
