looking for information on how to grind a BB crankshaft . how to remove and replace weights . can the crankshaft be ground with weights on . a friend said cut them off , get the crankshaft ground and weld them back on , but i think there is a better way. help, john in duncan

You would get it ground like any other counter weighted crank. There would be a lot more involved then cutting them off and welding back on anyway. Take it to your machinist and talk to them. This question would be better in the Model A section.
