Default 12 Volt to 6 Volt Droping Resistor

City: Baldwin
State: MD
Price: Various

Offering a 25 watt resistor for use as a means of droppng a 12 volt input to operate a 6 volt Model A Ahooga horn. The resistor can be housed within the horn cover or added to the wiring in the engine compartment. When mounted inside the horn one input wire is pulled from the horn contact terminal and placed at one end of the resistor. The wire from the other end of the resistor is placed in the horn contact terminal. This places the resistor in series with the input wire and the horn.
The resistor is 3/4" wide and 2" long

The resistor is offered in three options: The resistor by itself @ $12; The resistor as a kit with a length of wire, 2 bullet wire ends, a sleeve connector and a length of heat shrink tubing @ $15; and the complete assembly ready to install @ $18. Shipping included in price for US customers.

Just want to bring this back to a current state. Info is still good. Shipping is included in the price for US contiguous states. Tried to correct spelling of title but system won't let me. It really is a dropping not droping resistor.

Jim, any need to make up a clip, or way of attaching to horn innards so it can't get tangled up with the armature? Bob

I don't think a clip is necessary with the heavy gauge wire used in the kit or assembly. The wire once positioned holds the unit in place. The resistor body is threaded and a thin metal nut is included if you wanted to attach the resistor to something.

Just want to bring back to top. Hope it doesn't offend anyone but this is an ongoing item. Will be at Hershey and can demonstrate unit in an actual horn. C2A 69

Had a demonstration of this resistor working in a horn at Hershey and sold several. That Ahooga sound does draw people. Had a good time talking to car people from all over the world.

Could this be used to drop the volts down for a 6 volt windshield wiper as well?
