Anyone know when the forged steel front seat frame with solid bar bottom rest was used?

I believe the solid bar seat rest was an early item found in 1928.

Some were used until early 29, mine has the two cups. Gary Karr's Tudor built about a month later has the bar. I think it was a matter of where the car was built and inventory on hand.

BTW, when you are ready to let go of those bars let me know, I'd be pleased to take them off your hands.

denniskliesen, my intent is to sell the seat (including the bar). I only have one seat.

Bob, I found the thread. It didn't answer the question about the cast seat frame nor the bar versus cone.

I will let go of mine, Canadian car dated 28.

To the best of my knowledge the bar was used through 1928, then the cups. My 2-23-29 Tudor has the cups. I'm not sure about the change from the forged seat frame parts to stamped steel.
