Default tires

I have a 1930 model A pick up with 650x16 rims and tires. I have a chance to pick up a set of 600x16 tires for a good price. Is there any real difference in the size?

750-16 are about as tall as 19-475/500 smaller the first number the shorter the tire.

6.50 vs 6.00 = 1/2 inch. They'll work just fine.

How old are the tires? If they're old stock they may wear out in a hurry.

The tires won't wear very quickly if they are allstate brand . My experience with 16 & 19 inch tires are that the 16s are not as tall . Using 16 inch tires will slow the top speed because of the gearing down effect . Besides that , the 16 inch tires don't look right on a model A unless that is the look that you want .

Purdy is correct, I personally like the look. I suspect a lot of people do not like the look. The Tires I chose from Coker ended up being close to the same circumference as the original factory wheels/tires, so speedometer is accurate. There are places you can send your speedometer to that can gear it as needed for accuracy.

I have a hunch that your rims were designed for a 600-16 and someone put oversize tires on. Are your rims 1935 Ford or maybe Kelsey's? Be sure to check the date code on the tires, old tires are dangerous if you intend to drive fast. Remember you can let some air out of the tire and it will fit in the tire well, carry a pump to inflate it if you need to use it. It would be good to add your email and general location to your profile, you can never tell when it will pay off.

750-16 are about the same tall as the 475/500-19 tires

The diameter of each brand and rim size is on the Coker web site.

The overall size varies wildly between brands in imperial sizes. Not so much in metric.

Looks like about 1/2 inch difference in a Firestone.
