soup jobs, gowjobs, & hop-ups T picture thread
Lets show some respect to the hot rods before they were hot rods, Gabby Garrison, "Multy" Aldrich, Isky, and so on, this is my first thread after switching over from the HAMB, I will be starting a thread of my 23 T banger soup job soon. Heres some to start off with.

Re: soup jobs, gowjobs, & hop-ups T picture thread
I can't wait to see more pics! I'll be forced to do mine in gowjob fashion until I'm able to buy all the missing parts.
I'm sure this wasn't done back in the day, but if anyone has a pic of a gowjob T coupe without fenders and such, I'd love to see it. A T coupe without the top chopped that is. Maybe I haven't seen a tall coupe in gowjob fashion for a reason. |

Speaking as a HAMB veteran, shouldn't these types of threads be over there? In the Banger group? Never saw a ton of this stuff in the years I lurked the old Barn................just asking, correct me if I am wrong.

Re: soup jobs, gowjobs, & hop-ups T picture thread
Some feathers will and do get ruffled, but if you keep it related. It will be accepted.
Let's face it, these car were being modified in some cases as soon as they left the factory. Historically, it is just as significant to modify a T during the teens to thirties as the T its self! Anyway just keep it T related |

Re: soup jobs, gowjobs, & hop-ups T picture thread
Totally agree, I am not here to rustle any feathers. But it does seem that these types of cars have no place, too stock for the hot rod croud and too "hopped up" for most of the stock enthusiast. I think thats why I like them so much, they represent the cradle of what was to become the "hot rod" but were just a bunch of model T owners who wanted to be just a little differant. There is not really a big collection of pictures of these cars on the web anywhere, maybe because there were not many built. The closest I have found is the "Traditional T Bucket thread on the HAMB, thats why I started this thread here. In my opinion a stock T with some engine work done can be a gowjob.
Oh and by the way T-HEAD, your racing thread is outstanding!! Thanks guys!! Steve |

Re: soup jobs, gowjobs, & hop-ups T picture thread
Hello All,
I'm a long time member of the HAMB and had a hard time finding anything T related (stock or modified) there. I hope the long time Barn members don't mind these types of threads. I have a number of T's (among other cars) and currently I'm only restoring one back to original. It's just too darn expensive to pursue. If anyone has pictures of "hot" coupes, I'd love to see them. Thanks, Bob |

Re: soup jobs, gowjobs, & hop-ups T picture thread
T-HEAD, the only real reason I go to the HAMB anymore is to read your thread. To many "how low can you go hot rods and rat rods". Very few care seem to about the history.
T MAN, I agree. These cars seem to be the "Missing Link". Don't have any real home. |

I want to do my coupe in a very similar fashion. I just don't know if the coupe would look good like that. It's a bit tall. |

Here is Iskys 24', it originally had a hopped up banger but was converted in the winter 38-39 to the OHV converted V8.

SUHRsc,
Estes roadster is one of the best looking full fendered cars. Great car to pick for inspiration! Great start with your parts collection! How much was the back cut down? Doesn't look like much. |

MY plan is about half way between stock and horizontal... With the gas tank moved into the turtle deck(it fits) you can get the seat real low! * thanks t-head

Zach,
The T looks great! Have you heard from Coaltown Kid lately? Just checking in on him from time to time... wondering if the new Fordbarn threads might jumpstart some activity from him. That sprinter he was working on was fantastic- hate to see him stall out! Thanks, Bill |

I don't know of any original pics of gabbys car with the fenders on it, I think those two are the only ones in circulation on the web.
