Had to venture out...Rte 100 from Hardin north will soon close, Illinois River has arrived at the edge of the pavement. Water here on the Mississippi River side keeps rising, I thought it had crested but it's moving up again. Temps dropping too, heat back on, coffee on and eBaying to pass the time!!!!

Have a great day!!!!!!!!!!!!

We're maybe ninety miles north of all this. It's pretty bad.

4 more inches of rain coming today down there. It's setting up like back in '93 when all that rain kept dumping on the upper Midwest/Minnesota areas and the Mississippi went WAY over flood stage set a lot of records.

Wonder if a Model A could make it thru the water running over the roads? Wouldn't want to be the one to try it.

At 40 feet water will be touching Sarah's tires, I've a ways to go yet but it continues to rise. Route 100 out of Hardin heading north is now closed, that's the Illinois River side.

At this point it is still on as far as I know. I have two vendor spaces and one of the guys I know well who runs the swap hasn't called to say otherwise.
If it quits tonight as they say it would have two days to dry out. for sure it is bad down here right now. Ed may have to figure out farming to eat as he is getting cut off from the main land one road at a time. Only really one left for him now ( maybe the ferry if running).

It's usually a pretty good swap meet. One of only a couple left around here so it you need "A" parts come on in. I will post asap if I here of any news.

50/50 chance George....depends upon a lot, some towns have crested, some have a way to go. This 2-4 inches we have received additionally in the last 36 hours has slowed the cresting down quite a bit.

Depends on where you are headed in Missouri. There are lots of road closures state wide that you should be able to identify using an internet search. Perhaps starting with Missouri Department of Transportation. You will be able to cross the Mississippi River in the St. Louis area, however there are some main and secondary roads that are impassible.
