Default Ford Dealership

My 1942 Ford coupe had service done at G.E.MaKay Ford-Mercury-Lincoln Ponoma and Claremont in 1950 when the car had 10,000 miles. Does anyone know where this dealership was located? City, Town and even a street address. Did G.E.McKay have two dealerships one in Ponoma and one in Claremont? Anyone with any information I would be very great full. Fred Killian

Fred ,Pomona and Claremont are in the eastern part of Los Angeles. Perhaps some of the L.A. guys on here will remember the dealership.

Thanks Tom I knew that Ponoma and Claremont were near Los Angeles. I am hoping someone from that area remembers just were it was located or if they had two dealerships. I did try google with no luck. Fred

Fred, not trying to be critical, but you spelt Pomona "Ponoma" twice, could that be effecting your google results?

Mart.

These are a couple of quotes gleaned from the internet referring to the G.E Makay dealership that later became Norman Ford.

"Dad worked at "G.E. McKay Ford" since before the war when it was on Third and Gibbs. Later he worked for "Norman Ford" and after that "Fair City Ford" until he retired in 1978."

" I think the area in the picture was leveled to make way for the new Norman Ford Sales (formerly G.E. McKay Ford) dealership when it relocated from downtown around 1963."

When I belonged to the Pomona Valley Chapter in the 60's we had our
meetings at Norman Ford.

Thank you to everyone who has responded to my question. It looks like G.E. McKay Ford dealership was located in Pomona. I still wonder if they had a second dealership in Claremont? Fred
