Default Stock Paint Process

I am curious to know how Ford Motor Co. painted the reveals of cars on the production line. Did they use brushes or mask-and-spray?

You would benefit greatly from purchasing the Model A Paint and Finish Guide. There you will find a detailed explanation of the original process.

Quick answer is mask and spray, no brushes.

There is actually a lot to unpack in your question as Ford did not paint all Model A bodies. Briggs, Murray, Budd bodies were received painted. I’m sure someone more knowledgeable will chime in with a detailed explanation…hopefully WITHOUT posting a photo from the PF&G!
