Default Which Cam to use

Hey gang!

I'm rebuilding a '36LB and am seeking advice on which cam to buy. This will be a stock engine so no racing or fancy modifications. The block did not come with a cam so I've got to either buy NOS or a newer style replacement. Any suggestions on what to purchase and from where?

I'd recommend a stock cam. However you may consider a later 59 style and use a crab distributor.

Assuming choice of stocker...Ford supplied the 1942 cam, 29A part number, as the replacement for all '32-48. If you get that one you also need the little cam extension button to use '36 front cover and distributor.

Stock, 5T. That's my favourite.
