Default What is this hole???

Can someone please tell me what this hole is for near drivers left foot? I also see two other holes on firewall that have been filled. I think the one on the right is for starter, the other I'm not sure... any help?

It looks like someone installed a headlight dimmer.

I was thinking headlight dimmer but, I thought this was done by the light switch on horn ring. Mine is a '31 roadster.

I've seen a foot operated horn button mounted there. It was on a car I was test driving and couldn't work out why the horn sounded at the weirdest times!

All dimmer switches I have seen have symetrical holes.

Maybe the owner fitted an accelerator pedal there?

The middle pedal is a PITA.

This is a normal Ford ('40-'48) dimmer switch hole pattern.

The odd hole alignment is what Ford used on later flatheads for the headlamp dimmer.
