Default Nursemaid for a while

My girlfriend is home from having a knee replaced, so I will be doing the nursemaid thing for a few weeks while she regains strength and mobility. We are hoping that in the end she will be mobil again and we can resume enjoying the old cars.
So far she is doing well.

Bill

Bill,

All that is needed for a speedy recovery is good food, wine and a lot of love.
There will of course be some exercise to get the movement back to the knee, but that is in addition to the love part, not instead of!

What great attitudes! I've told my Wife many times, "if you think you have it bad, look around you."

Hope she's doing OK, the physical therapy afterwards is important.
Still hope to see you at Klingberg..........

I am hoping she is well enough to leave for a few hours next weekend to attend Klingberg for a while. Time will tell. Nurse and PT coming today.

Her first year it is very inportant that she exersizes ever day. the more she works to get movement back, the better her movement will be. I was 59 yrs, old when I had mine. Don't baby her far as getting up to do things. The day of surgy I got up and walked 600 feet. Haven't stopped walking. It will be sensitive to cold for about the first two years. Tell her to rub the area around the cut, it helps break up scare tissue, I rub even my leg to help blood flow. I had this done 2 1/2 years ago. The more she move it the more movement she will get back. It does hirt but its worth it. If she need to take with some body my number is 574-221-1475.

Had my left knee done jan 2016. I love it at 67 years old. At this point screw the doctor BUT do as the PT says. That's key. Good luck to her and you as well for steppin up.

My wife had her knee replaced a few years ago and it was the best thing she could have done. She walks fine now without pain. Do as the PT tells her. Don't overdo or underdo.
In no time at all she will be walking circles around you!! mike

My 66 year old neighbor had both knees replaced about 4 months ago. I'm really surprised at how quickly he was back to normal and the scars even healed nicely.

Hope it wasn't her "clutch" knee

Best wishes to you both

Doesn't matter. I was driving a stick shift two weeks after surgery. It's really amazing what they can do. If I hadn't had total knee replacements I don't think I'd even by walking. Too much football and basketball in my youth!

As others have said, the physical therapy is VERY important in getting back a full range of movement. Stick with it religiously. Good luck!

Yes, it is her clutch knee. I have been driving her early 28 roadster pickup while she can't.
I thought for sure someone would ask if it was her low knee or her high knee
