Default Question about Avatar picture

I tried following the instructions but was unable to post the small Avatar picture in my bio. I'm not great on the computer but my picture was in the file and I went to Custom Avatar under option 2 and there is an empty field. Do I type in the picture code or use another method to apply the photo? I tried typing in the info. and saving it but didn't work. Any suggestions or is there something wrong in my computer? I am able to send the picture in Emails so I'm confused.

barry make sure the custom avatar boxed is checked and than either put the url of the place it is or in the second box locate it on your computer files. if the pic is to large it wont work the size allowance is listed at the bottom of that page

Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 160 by 160 pixels or 19.5 KB (whichever is smaller).

if your pic is larger than this you have to resize it first

Mitch, my picture is 150x100. Is the picture too large? Should I just type in the code in the box? It is filed under "My pictures" as barry2.jpeg. I tried different combinations and hit "save" but didn't work. That's under option 2, the lower box right?

click browse and locate the file.
highlight it and click open. that should automatically put it in the box next to the browse button. you shouldnt have to type it in manually. then upload that size should work

Barry, I had the same problem when I first tried. The first thing I did to find my problem was to do a "right click" with my mouse on the picture where it was stored
on the computer and that opened a "drop down" which showed "properties." Click
on properties (left click) and that will tell you how many KB or MB your picture is.
Do that and if that is the problem let me know and I will give you some other avenues.
Make sure your "user control panel" feature is enabled, lol.

Thanks guys but I had a knowledgable friend look at it and it's something in my computer that's blocking the field in option 2 so I have to get that fixed. Barry
