Re: weber carb
Has anyone tired running the Ford dual throat (Weber look a like) on their A? It is pregressive like the Weber, and came on Escorts and otehr fur cylinder Fords.

Re: weber carb
I'm running a Weber carb and manifold outfit. It performs well, but idles poorly. Anyone have any advice on how to get it to idle correctly? Rejet with small idle jets? I don't know much about these. Where to get jets and what size?

Re: weber carb
Have you adjusted the idle mixture screw? and/or the idle speed screw? Webers are simple straight forward carbs and it was the best improvement I ever made to my car!!

Re: weber carb
I guess I'm lucky then -- I am running a Weber, gravity fed, and have had no problem at all. Just got back from a 300 mile trip in mountainous terrain, 50mph most of the time and narry a stutter the whole trip.

Re: weber carb
I have run the weber Ford carb on VWs and they were great power producers, except off road. In very rough terrain the float bowl would spill over into the venturi, and flood out. On a Model A it kind of defeats the purpose of having an old restored car, using a modern carb looks out of place. A 97 or a 94,or dual Tillotsons looks more like old school hot rodding.
