Thanks gents....
The frame was sandblasted and painted with a product that is used locally by a company that sandblasts and paints semi trailers and other big pieces.... picture attached... |

20 years ago I helped a fellow rebuild a 52 PU. He was a good body man and painter, so the cab and bed came out great. I put a 302/C4/3.08 in it and it was a great driver. got good gas mileage. After a year or so he came to me and said driving this thing is like a truck. The steering is hard. I checked out the steering box and had the frint end aligned. It wasn't out much. Yes it didn't steer vary good. so I installed a Mustang IFS and he was very happy. The truck was called Peaches

And now a question….. I can’t find any information on installation of the ignition housing and tumbler assembly. The truck didn’t have one when purchased… the spring loaded housing fits into the dash, the tabs line up with the slots in the dash, but it’s a puzzle as to what holds it in place. It will not rotate at all. The bezel fits over the tabs, but it too does not rotate…. Anyone have an idea? Thanks…

As I recall you push the switch forward enough to get the bezel installed and the spring pulls it back in place. The bezel is bigger than the hole and it holds the switch in place.

Solved! The repop bezel needed gentle encouragement with pliers in order to open the gap enough to allow it to rotate enough to lock.
