Default Replace horn button spring

Thought I’d check w those who’ve done it before. Insight on removining old replacing w new horn button spring on ‘35

You will have to remove the rod entirely,then there are 4 tabs of the horn button bezel to straighten.It will then slip out and the button with it.The spring is behind the button.

And on a closed body it is often difficult to pull the horn rod without taking the column loose. They are easy to bend.

So probably should assume interference & loosen & lower the steering column to be sure, got it.

Be careful when pulling the horn rod. Do not bend it in any way and it will be covered with oil and grease. Protect your upholstery!

Also, be very careful on bending the tabs, try to keep the bend to a minimum. I try to only bend three and keep one intact and gently pry it off.

On a 35-37 you have to pry back all 4 so they are straight.
