more 1940 coupe questions
I'm sure to drive you guys nuts with the many questions I'm posting, but... what would the rear floor (behind the seat...not trunk) have been covered with?
A mat? This car has auxiliary jump seats not a package tray. Thanks |

Re: more 1940 coupe questions
Depends, if my grandkids were back there it would be covered in either popcorn or potato chips, (sorry could not resist).

Re: more 1940 coupe questions
The area is covered with 3 pieces of carpet. The center piece goes over the drive shaft
hump and is not bound on the edge. The other 2 pieces cover the floor on each side of the drive shaft hump and are bound on the edge. Cutouts slits are in the carper under the opera seats through which pass the mounting hardware for the seats. The carpet is a brown/tanish color. |

Our locally assembled Ford coupes in NZ ( ex Canada ) did not have it. The 39 sedans had the carpet, but not the 39 coupes. The 39/40 Ford Body parts list shows a LH and RH carpet and a Tunnel carpet for the 40 coupes with the jump seats Chris.NZ. Last edited by swoopNZ; 12-09-2017 at 11:46 PM. |
