1929 Rear bumper brace question?
I have a 1929 Briggs Town Sedan and I was wondering how long the rear bumper braces are, how tall are the body supports and where on the bumper braces are the body supports located? Thanks, Terry

Re: 1929 Rear bumper brace question?
Same as for the 28-29 tudor sedan. Dimensions given in Jim Scheilds book. Rod

Re: 1929 Rear bumper brace question?
I looked in Jim Schild's book page 202. I have a pair of the 28-29 Tudor bumper braces that are 35 1/4 inches long. The body support is 2 7/8 inches tall and is 17 1/2 inches from the bumper end of the brace. I also have a pair of 38 1/4 inch long bumper braces with the body support in the same place and size as the shorter bumper braces. The body braces do not line up with the wood of the body frame on the back of the body. If the body brace was 14 3/4 from the bumper end of the bumper brace and 4 3/4 inches tall as in Jim's book for the 1930-31 Fordor they would work. If I welded up the old hole for the body brace and drilled a new one 14 3/4 inches from the bumper end and used a 4 3/4 body brace would they be the same as the original braces for a 29 Briggs Town Sedan? If so which pair of bumper braces would be correct the long ones or the short ones. Thanks for any help you might have, Terry

Re: 1929 Rear bumper brace question?
Sorry for this misinformation. I know the 60-A and 60-B fit my delvery which is the same subrail wise as a tudor sedan. I thought for certain since it was a Briggs body the info would be correct. Rod

Re: 1929 Rear bumper brace question?
Are you missing the 45 degree metal corner brace on your wood subrails as that is what they should bolt to. Rod

I have the braces if yours are missing and the same as the 60-B. I do not know if yours had them or not. Rod

I guess I will see if anyone knows if I need the corner braces. If I need them I will let you know. Thanks
